FRYD EXTRACTS JOLLY RANCHER is an American brand of sweet hard candy, gummies, jelly beans, lollipops and sour bites. It is currently owned by The Hershey Company and has been around since 1949.

The origin of Jolly Ranchers began in Golden, Colorado in 1949 when Bill and Dorothy Harmsen founded their own company called the “Jolly Rancher Company”. They sold ice cream and chocolate, but it was the hard candies that were a hit and grew very quickly.

These candies are made by boiling corn syrup, sucrose, glucose and fructose into a solution and cooling it to 160 deg C/320 F. This solution is then extruded into long malleable strings that are then cut to size and individually wrapped.

Each string of candy is individually wrapped in a colorful wrapper with a twisted knot on top. This helps to keep the candy fresh longer.

There are many different kinds of Jolly Ranchers, including the original sour-sweet variety. They can be found in blue raspberry, green apple, cherry and grape flavors. These candies are a great way to fill your candy bowl for all your holiday gatherings or parties.
